Remembrance Flowers

In the UK and Commonwealth countries, poppies signify remembrance of people who died in the First World War (and commemoration of military personnel more generally). The poppy’s French counterpart is the cornflower (bleuet). This poppy and bleuet grew together near the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing.
